An Emerald Affair

” Whatever any one does or says, I must be good; just as if the emerald were always saying this: Whatever any one does or says, I must still be emerald, and keep my color. ” – Marcus Aurelius

By now, you all must have guessed that today’s post revolves around the hue ’emerald’. I’m a staunch fan / lover of the colour red and can wear it in any form; be it shoes, dresses, red lips, etc and may be, all in one go as well (I’m not kidding you guys, red is all heart ♥) And although I adore colours and am not at all conscious of wearing them all the time, there are few colours I have not ventured into a lot and green is among one of them. While mint green is something I have sported quite often, bottle green is a colour I would happily give a slip. But let’s take a moment and talk about the beauty of emerald here. What an absolute treat this colour is! It is rich and classic and can make you stand out even from kilometers of distance. Today’s look is an all emerald outfit and I thoroughly loved creating it. Scroll down and take a look.

I was keen on keeping the look monotone and add a dash of red via my lips alone. Coming to the outfit, I always wanted a good metallic knife-pleated skirt in my wardrobe; so when I saw this metallic emerald skirt on Koovs, I knew I was buying it. The skirt is available in two colours – gold and emerald but I was tempted to pick up the latter as it was certainly more edgy. (putting down the link to the skirt so you can buy).

I initially thought of pairing it with a fitted black top but then decided to make it monotone and picked up an olive coloured lace detailed shirt. The jazzy pair of patterned sandals which I have owned for more than 2 years now, seemed like a perfect match for the look. For accessorizing, I picked up a beautiful pair of champagne colored earrings from Pipa Bella.  A maroon coloured box clutch and red lips brought in the finishing touches and the perfect contrast needed for the look. I love how glamorous and edgy the whole look turned out to be.
