Back to the Classics #BlackRedAndWhite

Time and again, I have laid focus on how fashion is so much about experimenting but also identifying your own sense of style. While I know people who look phenomenal in whatever style they adorn, there are few like me who experiment and either stick or thrash those styles. Also, do you not feel that there are few styles you keep going back to? Like something you relate yourself so well with?

Today’s look is one such style I feel so strongly about! While the classic combination of red, white and black have been my favourite for ages, a good box pleated skirt teamed up with either a good shirt or tee and pumps is something I can wear in any season and any place! (And if I manage to defy time, may be in any age too *wink*).

I’m a huge fan of midi length box pleated skirts or dresses. I have also seen a lot of short people avoiding such outfits under the pretext that it will not flatter them. However, let me assure you that you can still rock them if you opt for the right top and shoes. For example, chunky heels or flats are a big no no for such outfits. Stilettos or pencil (something thin) heels would enhance these voluminous midi pieces very well. Always remember, that the biggest asset is your confidence; it makes a world of a difference in how you carry out any look or style and I’m not saying it just for the sake of it! I truly mean it.

Coming back to the look, I usually pair my printed skirts with a plain tee or a classic shirt! Here, I chose this monochrome message tee. I just loved the whole Parisian vibe oozing out from this look! A black pair of heels was what I needed to finish out my monochrome look. It’s cliched but red is such a perfect pop of colour against a black & white look and hence, I chose to wear red lips and a cute little red bag to augment the look. I kept my mane a tad messy and pinned one side for a girly and fun look. Last but not the least, a big pearl stud was all I needed for accessorizing. Pearls are another cult favourite of mine and I just can’t seem to have enough of them! Whenever I feel like doing a Parisian or feminine look, pearls are my go-to choice of accessories.
