Flower Power

“Summers and floral” are so cliched, isn’t it? No matter how much we agree with that, hit summer and we all feel weak at our knees on the very first sight of the vibrant floral in all our favorite stores.

And why not –  floral is youthful, fun and can easily uplift anybody’s mood.

Regardless of all the trends and fads which keep changing every season, I always stick to having a floral shirt/blouse and a dress in my wardrobe. To me, they are these ever green classics I can not do without.

However this summer, I decided to adorn floral a tad differently.

PS: I just realised that’s too many ‘floral’ in the texts already!

I wanted colours and I wanted floral – the theme was clear in my head and just like that, while browsing through koovs, I found this prettiest looking floral tulip skirt. I immediately went ahead to buy it.

What I love about tulip skirts is how they are an intermediate between a classy pencil skirt and a fun skater one. Given their silhouette of a clinched waist and an inverted flower like bottom, it is sure to do wonders to the hourglass or lean body. But I guess, it wasn’t too bad on mine either.

Coming to the look I created, I decided to team the skirt with a yellow wrap around blouse from Ajio. I am absolutely in love with the combination here. The colour contrast only added more fun and vibrancy to the whole look.

Just a small tip – tuck your blouse/top in to your tulip skirt and wear it a little higher on the waist, it will give you the impression of an elongated lower body.

This look was aimed for a classic and elegant yet fun brunch look. I needed to have both girly and lady-like elements added to it. A tulip skirt is a minimal fashion piece yet one of the classiest.

Continuing with my floral theme, I opted for a floral necklace and an oversized clutch to accessorize my outfit. Not interfering with the colour contrast of yellow and mint green, I slipped into my nude pair of heels to compete the look. Of course, my favourite gold watch and oversized glasses finished out the look perfectly.

Hope you guys enjoyed this over dose of flowers in my outfit! I would wear this look instantly for a bright sunny day and of course, there’s no restriction to carry it over to the night too. 😉
