Given my love for colours (esp the brighter palettes), you would seldom see me in all things black or white. That’s not to say, I tend to detest or avoid them. Monochrome is one of the classiest things to wear and so, I decided to blog on how I like to wear them.
Since co-ordinates are fast becoming synonymous with our go-to basics these days, I thought of styling them in a monochrome look and it turned out to be much easier as well!
The crop top and culottes are actually not a part of a set co-ordinates; rather, I have picked them up from different places and paired together. On another running-errands-kinda day, I would pair my white blouse with skinny black jeans for a regular monochrome look. On a day when I’m in play-dress-up mood, I would throw in an all black or white outfit on me and accessorize with a contrasting colour.
This time round, I decided to achieve a monochromatic look through layering. The white senorita crop top is from the site www.ewayoung.com. You could check them out for a variety of crop tops in terms of colours and prints. Culottes are chic and also fall in the borderline of casual and formal and hence, the pick! The next step was adding a layer to the white ensemble. For this, I picked up a black sleeveless long blazer from Miss Bennet London. Except for the top, all of the pieces are old purchases but I’ll still try and find similar ones and insert links in the credit.
As my outfit was complete now, it was time to accessorize. I wanted to stick to the colour black and not mix and match a lot, for it may have looked a little odd and loud otherwise. So then, my go-to black pumps from Steve Madden and tote from Forever New came in the picture. I added a hint of gold accents to the monochromatic look via my gold watch and a choker (Pipa Bella).
And as cliched as it sounds, red lips added the perfect finishing touches to the whole look.
Oh by the way, these Lenon glasses are an absolute favourite and I have been wearing them with almost everything these days. I bought them from Koovs; they are from an Australian brand called Quay and Ray Ban also has a lot of similar ones. Just and FYI! 😉
So that’s all about this look folks! Hope you all enjoyed the post. I’m inserting the links where you can buy similar or same pieces from online here. Don’t forget to leave your thoughts down below!
