Ruffled and flared outfits were pretty much all over this season. Be it the big dramatic sleeves or the hem of the outfit, ruffles have been a part of almost everything. They augment to your look, the perfect dramatic touch; however you need to be a tad careful while styling it as you may risk it looking overwhelming on yourself too.
I’m personally a fan of ruffles and flares; especially the big sleeves trends and layered ruffles on the hem of any outfit. You can read the first post in the series here.
This red skirt from Forever New appealed to me the instant I laid my eyes on it. It has a tie around belt which I wrapped and put in a bow. The center slit adds a little zing to your look and the ruffles at the end of the skirt make it a fun piece to wear.
When you are styling a skirt like that, I prefer a little fitted top wear – may be a classic fitted tee or a tank. Refrain from pairing it with a too-dramatic-a top as it would look a rather busy and confused look.
I, for one, decided to pair it with a brown printed zip-up spaghetti top (an old piece from Femella). I wore emerald green earrings and went out to finish the look with a pair of closed toe black sandals. As for my hair, I tucked it in a plain gold head band and kept the lower part of the hair little messy to play along the mood.
Alternatively, I would have paired it with a black tank top and some strappy black sandals.
I hope you enjoyed this two-part series as much as I did working on it. Let me know in comments below as to what you liked (or disliked *wink*).
