” For last year’s words belong to last year’s language,
And next year’s words await another voice.
What we call the beginning is often the end,
And to make an end is to make a beginning. ”
~ T. S. Eliot
Happy new year everyone!
Year 2018 was not particularly a great one for me; I did not have too many highs but had few lows, making this year quite a forgettable one. However, I have a lot planned for 2019 which also includes a lot of blog posts and outfit looks on my Instagram. There’s no way I’m letting this year pass as just another year and I’m already looking forward to making the most of it without dwelling into any resolutions.
Also, I’m starting the year with my best friend’s wedding and I couldn’t be happier. Weddings make me the happiest and I genuinely think Indian weddings are one of the most fun weddings. I absolutely love that we get to perform so many rituals in both traditional and a fun way and get to look our authentic and ethnic best. All the post-wedding hangover and fatigue that we have after Indian weddings are totally worth it. What would be your favourite part from Indian weddings?
Let’s talk about the look for today’s blogpost.
Tweeds have been an indispensable part of winter fashion for long and it’so more than okay to own and wear a lot of them. I spotted a lot of tweed outfits on the runway last year which hints at their domination in 2019 as well.
Another trend that is big this season is plaids. So naturally, when I saw this tweed plaid skirt in H&M, I just knew I had to make it a part of my winter wardrobe.
I played with pastel colours to go with the skirt, aiming to create a tonal colour palette. I normally would throw on a tweed jacket with this look but this time I decided to pick a lavender biker jacket. I usually keep it low key in the accessories department in winters but here I wore my silver baubles over the pink blouse and a thin matching head band on top to complete my look.
The black knee high boots from Zara finished out my look perfectly.
Hope you enjoyed the first blog post of 2019.
Let me know if you are a tweed fan too in the comments below. Also, let’s talk about your new year resolutions?
Until next time,
