Stripe it out

Hey guys,

How are all of you doing? I have just been back from the Triund Trek and the experience was amazing to say the least. I will be sharing my Triund story in a few days too and all of you, who want to plan Triund, may take some points from it.

This post was supposed to be published last week but my work and other things took precedence and hence, the delay.

I shall be talking about two different looks centering around the theme of “nautical stripes”. So, let’s just get into it.

Nautical stripes, the French sailor style, also known as Breton stripes have been a favourite casual style for women for ages. They are my go-to basic style as well and I always have a striped tank top/ tee and a shift dress in my wardrobe for all the seasons.

2017 has them trending again and who’s complaining anyway?!

While there are numerous ways to wear stripes, I’m gonna show you two looks featuring nautical striped culottes from Zara which I had bought last year. I completely adore this outfit and if you notice, it has a divided skirt kinda feel to it with that patch of cloth in the front.

First Look:

Stripes pair rather well with any solid colour but this time, I wanted to play the same hue in different shades in one single look. I had also picked up this sky blue cold shoulder shirt from Zara and decided to bring both these Zara pieces together for this look. I also wanted to add a bit of jazz through some metallic pieces and hence, chose silver earrings and metallic silver shoes from Charles & Keith to accessorize.

A sky blue over-sized clutch and mirrored glasses finished out my look. The pop of colour and some contrast came via my plum lip colour.

Second Look:

For the second look, I decided to do stripes on stripes. Shirt dresses which can double up as a cover/cape/outerwear have been my favourite for a while now. I paired a white tank with the culottes and wore the black and white striped shirt (Dorothy Perkins) as an outer layer. Hair in a top messy knot and lime coloured heels (from Boohoo) finished out my look. I feel the neon yellow shoes add so much zing to the otherwise casual look.

These were the two looks I created with my nautical striped culottes. All these different pieces which I have put together are rather old; it’s nothing short of fabulous when you clean up your wardrobe after ages and come across outfits which you have hardly worn and recreate different looks using them. It’s time for you to do the same. 😉

Hope you guys enjoyed the post. Pour in your thoughts below so that I know better of how you liked it!

Until next time,

Stay stylish, Stay fabulous,

Reitu ♥
