The Chaos & Hoopla that was 90’s

Fashion is all about evolution which has time and again reintroduced the past trends laced with a subtle modern twist. We have seen how 90’s flared jeans & sleeves, 80’s high waist bottoms & over-sized tops made quite a rage last year. While I still don’t see people embracing flared denims in big numbers (personally, I’m also not a huge fan of them and would prefer my well fitted denims any day), boyfriend jeans did manage to make quite an impact all over the world.

Nonetheless, there’s no denying the fact that a lot of good things from the 19th century have arrived and are here to stay. One of my favourite trends this fall, the baker boy or newsboy caps, have been creating a buzz world-wide and I decided to introduce them on my blog today.

Pairing these hats with your basics might be the most approachable idea but they are certainly not limited to them.

I decided to go a tad retro on the blog and feature one of my favorite faux leather baker boy caps from Zara.

I chose this fun puffed sleeve red sweatshirt from Stalk Buy Love and went ahead to pair it with an equally fun black dungaree skirt from Koovs. The sweatshirts are made of cotton and may not be the warmest one available and I might suggest opting for another warm outer layer when temperatures drop to single digits. However, I’m all for keeping myself warm in spite of my desire to look my fashionable best and hence the warm tights came into picture too. The black newsboy cap added the last bit of retro touch to the whole look. My go-to H&M boots helped completing my look perfectly.

I had a lot of fun creating this look. The baker boy cap has become a quintessential item for me this fall and my heart tells me I’m going to hold on to it for quite a few winter seasons (and why not).

I strongly feel, accessories can really elevate any dull & boring look and make you stand out in the crowd if not over-done. Do you agree as well?
