Trends come and go by, your style also constantly evolves every passing year and the fashion community refuses to stop innovating and reinventing. Howsoever, I’m a believer of sticking to classics more than what’s in vogue. More than classics, it’s about things I love; for example, I used to wear & love off-shoulders much before it started trending back and I also have a lot of polka dots and stripes in my wardrobe because they are pieces you can wear and repeat irrespective of any age and season.
However, this season seems to be a tad too much about polkas – they are available in all forms and colours and not only your classic monochromatic ones. I was ecstatic to see colourful polka prints everywhere on the runway and I specially reckon they are great for summers since they are so vibrant and fun.
Last year, we also saw the dramatic ruffles being introduced and worn worldwide. It seems we would continue to see a lot of ruffles this year as well and honestly, no complaints from me either!
In this look book, I have tried to create a playful look combining four different trends of the season – ruffles, polkas, strappy sandals and fringes!
The multi-tiered or ruffled skirts had been on my shop-list for long. I bought a white midi one from Lulu & Sky recently and it just seemed perfect for summers. I decided to pair the skirt with a blue ruffled polka-dot crop-top (which I had bought last year from Stalk Buy Love ) and absolutely loved the outcome of a fun and vibrant outfit. Since it’s summers already and I love bright colours, I decided to bring in some colour-blocking via fuchsia pink strappy heels from Zara against the blue top. It’s not just the colour of the shoes that attracted me but also the fringe detail at their back which had me swooning over it (by the way, fringe has been trending big this season too).
Since there were already a lot of statement pieces involved in the whole look, I opted to stay away from adding on any accessory and finished out the look with this cute mini bag and oval Zara sun glasses (been loving them lately).
Hope you liked this fun look I created! Stay tuned for more and let me know in comments below if you would like me to create any specific look (formal, date night, travel etc).
Until next time,
