“I have often said that I wish I had invented blue jeans: the most spectacular, the most practical, the most relaxed and nonchalant. They have expression, modesty, sex appeal, simplicity – all I hope for in my clothes.” – Yves Saint Laurent
What happens when you are under the weather and your reliable technology medium also gives up on you – you are forced to stay away from your blog! *sigh* Well, now that I have regained my good health and managed to fix up the technical issues with my website, it’s time for the second and last part of the Wardrobe Basics Revisited series.
You saw how I style my classic blue denims and shirt on a rather lazy day when comfort and time, usually influence my fashion moods. Today, I shall be using another pair of shirt and denims to spice things up a little but this time, a distressed denim skirt replaces my jeans. A denim skirt is something that anyone would relate to, when you think of denims other than your regular pair of jeans. It has been almost like a wardrobe staple for everyone, since probably the 80s. The last two years, we have seen denims skirts making a powerful comeback in the fashion scenes with almost all the high street brands flooded with several variants of the same. It has always been an indispensable part of my wardrobe for ages too.
While a well fitted piece of denim skirt is my go-to option for an everyday look, I like to sass it up sometimes too. The particular piece of ripped denim skirt is from the clothing line, Alia Bhatt from Jabong, which I have worn numerous times with my tank tops and white tees. This time though, I added an outer layer of a tent-printed long shirt from Koovs. Also, to add more spunk to the entire look, I wore the outfit with a pair of taupe/beige gladiator sandals with gold accents. I opted for my mint colour Aldo bag to complete the look. Since there was already a lot going on with the whole look, in terms of layers and colours, I chose not to add any accessories or jewelleries. However, I wore my gold Michael Kors watch with stacked bracelets and current favourite Ray Ban reflectors to bring out the finishing touches to the spunky day look. Bright pink lips accentuated the look with perfection.
So, this post completes my wardrobe basics series and I hope you all enjoyed it. Do let me know what is your favourite pair of denims and how you like styling them. Also, pour down your thoughts and feedbacks below as I always look forward to hearing from you.
Until next time,
Stay stylish, Stay fabulous,
